Getting Started with Hammer Prep
Baseline ACT and SAT
A student’s first step is to review results from a full-length ACT and SAT. If you haven’t taken a full-length test, we can help you proctor and score these exams. If you have official score reports, we can use these reports to evaluate the student.
Student Questionnaire
Students complete a detailed questionnaire that can help us better understand their interests and goals. The answers to these questions are important in helping us create a timeline for tutoring and selecting the best tutor.
Strategy Consult
Our Director works with parents and students to design an optimal testing plan. She will help answer the following questions. Which test better matches my skills, ACT or SAT? How much time will I need to put into tutoring? Which test date should I target? What score do I need to improve my chances at my target schools? Our goal is to provide a carefully designed plan so students and parents have a clear path forward.
Student Placement
After learning more about a student in the consultation, our Director will match a student with one of our expert instructors. The placement is based on learning style, score goals, and availability. We’ve learned that the right tutor is critical in determining a student’s success.

Students can join us for any of our proctored practice tests. Tests are typically available on Saturday morning.
