About Andrea

“She decided long ago that life was a long journey. She would be strong, and she would be weak, and both would be okay.”
— Tahereh Mafi

Andrea moved to California from the great state of Texas and refuses to go back. She received her bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from SDSU in linguistics, graduating summa cum laude for both. While obtaining her graduate degree, Andrea began teaching at SDSU and UCSD, specializing in English writing and grammar. During this time, she discovered a love for teaching but wanted a closer connection to her students. To find that deeper connection, she began working with students one-on-one to help them with their various needs: academic guidance, standardized test preparation, and college essay assistance. After completing her schoolwork, Andrea decided to tutor full-time and has been dedicated to supporting students for the last 8 years. When she’s not at work, you can find Andrea petting all the dogs (seriously, ALL the dogs), tapping it back at SoulCycle (we have no idea what this means, but she swears it’s a good thing), consuming mass amounts of sugar (she believes in having dessert after every meal), and reading (everything from historical fiction to thrillers).
