“Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.”
— Dr. Seuss
Derek completed his undergraduate education at Yale University (yes, THE Yale University) and studied Psychology. He then decided to stay at Yale and pursue his PhD in Neuroscience. During his tenure at Yale and beyond, Derek gained intensive teaching experience: he taught Chemistry and Biology at the Archer School for Girls and undergraduate/graduate classes at everywhere from USC to Florida State University to his alma mater. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Derek also worked as a research assistant professor and worked in occupational therapy! When he isn’t combing through medical journals for fun, Derek enjoys running in the park, relaxing by the pool, and photographing tongues (he swears it was for one of his many degrees!).
