B.S. Management Science, UC San Diego
“The most important step a man can take. It’s not the first one, is it? It’s the next one. Always the next step.” — Brandon Sanderson
Andy grew up in California and attended UCSD, where he majored in management science (we thought he made it up too but turns out it’s actually a pretty cool STEM major). While at UCSD, Andy played soccer and worked at the Athlete Tutoring program on campus. After graduating, he did Community Outreach for Young Life in addition to reading freshman applications for his alma mater, UCSD. Andy realized he loved working with the younger generation but wanted to have an even more meaningful impact and so began teaching math at Horizon Prep for junior high school students. Two years ago, he joined the ranks at Hammer Prep to further his teaching experience and still thinks teaching math is fun! When he’s not at work or hanging out with his feline Neville (please see photo— Neville, blink twice if you need rescuing), Andy enjoys playing board games, reading sci-fi/fantasy books, and watching Premier League (a nod to his old days as a soccer star).
